Invention of the Telephone

On June 2, Alexander Graham Bell first discovered the telephone. For English this week you will be writing about the telehone. You will need a topic sentence for each paragraph. The first paragraph needs a transitional sentence which will introduce the second paragraph. The second paragraph needs a concluding sentence for the whole paper.
Ideas to consider:
How are telephones useful?
How do businesses make use of telephones?
How many phones should a family have?
Are you interested in different styles of telephones?
Should there be a limit on the length of time a person speaks on the phone? Why or why not?
What do you know about phone manners? What are they?
Should teenagers have their own phones? Why or why not?
How are phones used for long distance?
How do you use a directory?
How do you use a phone in an emergency?
How should you handle prank phone calls?
Is the telephone a toy?

REMEMBER:
__ 1. 5-8 sentences for EACH paragraph
__ 2. Focus on the five elements of good writing, particulary DIRECTION (structure).
__ 3. A CLEARLY reworked rough draft.
__ 4. Signature of adult who proofread your composition for PRESENTATION.
__ 5. Good copy in ink.
__ 6. All THREE papers turned in with final on top.
