Signs of Spring

For English this week you are to write about Spring. Assume the personality of a tree, flower, or animal that has just awakened from a long winter's nap. Think of all the signs of Spring, and then discuss them from your 'new' point-of-view. You will also need to include thoughts that are going through your head or spoken aloud. How do you feel? Of what do you think? What do you see? Smell? Taste? Hear?

In each of your paragraphs, you must have at least five sentences but no more than eight. There is to be a topic sentence that covers your entire composition, a transition sentence that ties paragraph one to paragraph two, and a concluding sentence that summarizes your entire composition. One of your sentences must be a compound sentence. You may use either a semi-colon or a comma/conjunction.

REMEMBER:
__ 1. 5-8 sentences for EACH paragraph, one compound sentence, a transition sentence.
__ 2. Focus on the five elements of good writing, particulary PURPOSE and DIRECTION.
__ 3. Clearly reworked rough draft.
__ 4. Signature of adult who proofread your composition for PRESENTATION.
__ 5. Good copy in ink.
__ 6. All three papers turned in with final on top.
