On the back of this paper, make a list of animals on a farm. Pick one that you like or might wish to be. Then make a list of what that animal eats, what it does during the day, what other animals it may be near or associate with, what it smells like where it lives, how it feels about living on the farm, etc.
Write two paragraphs from that animal's point of view, as if you are that animal. Tell about how you would celebrate Farm Animals Day on your farm. Would you throw a party? Would you sleep all day? Would you eat different food? Would you take a bath? Would you go live in the farmer's house instead of the barn?
Be sure to use the details you listed in your brainstorming and include all five senses. Write the first paragraph about what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch throughout your celebration that day on the farm. (How are the other animals reacting? What are they doing? What kind of food is there? Are they any new or odd smells?) In your second paragraph, include how the farmer would react to your Farm Animals Day celebration. (Would he be angry? Would he join in the celebration?) Make your writing such that your reader feels as if he or she is actually there on the farm joining in on your celebration for Farm Animals Day.
