Bioethics



With the Human Genome Project's discovery, the world can now have access to a map of the complete human genetic code. In 1997, the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights was adopted by many European countries. Six of the declaration's articles are listed below. For Paragraph a Week this week you are to write a persuasive paragraph(s) detailing why you agree or disagree with any or all of the articles presented.

* Genes are what unite all of humanity.
* We must respect the unique traits of every individual.
* Individuals have the right to keep their genes private.
* No one should make money from selling human genes.
* Geneticists should share their research.
* Cloning humans should not be permitted.

  2. ___ five elements of good writing; focus on PURPOSE
  3. ___ clearly REWORKED rough draft
  4. ___ final is neat and written in ink
  5. ___ signature of adult who helped you proofread your work for PRESENTATION
  6. ___ all three papers stapled together with final on top
