One day high above the ocean, in a house in California, a girl named Leeloo was watching the waves roll into the shore. Her mother Lareta, was watching t.v. Her two sisters Jusinda and Chelsie were comparing what each other looked like in the mirror.
Mrs. Lareta called Leeloo over to the sofa. She said,"Please get me a sandwich."Leeloo did as her mother told her and went to the kitchen.
Jusinda came into the kitchen and asked,"Did you wash my clothes yet?"
Leeloo turned around and said,"I'm not your slave. Wash your own clothes." Leeloo took the plate off the counter and charged out. Jusinda stuck her nose in the air and stomped out!
Leeloo gave her mom the sandwich. Her mom told her thank you. Leeloo went over and sat by her mom. Leeloo told how Jusinda had been demanding her to do her work. Her mom told her that Jusinda is just being lazy."I will talk to her at dinner."Her mom said.
Chelsie was in her room counting her money, when Jusinda came in."What's the matter?" Chelsie asked.
"I'll tell you what the matter is,"Jusinda said in a stern voice."It's that Leeloo. She didn't wash my clothes."
"Well, she isn't your slave,"Chelsie said.
"Are you on her side?"Jusinda asked.
"No!"Chelsie threw down her money and left.
In the living room, Leeloo was reading a book and there was a knock at the door.
Lareta yelled from her bedroom, where she was doing her hair."Leeloo, can you get that?"
Leeloo got off the chair and went to the door.
A tall man was there. He said,"This is an invitation from Kevin Arch." Leeloo knew who he was. He was a very nice boy from school.
Jusinda came down the hallway and took the invitation from Leeloo's hands. Chelsie came over and looked at what Jusinda had. Jusinda opened the note. She read.......
Dear Angels,
You are invited to a swimming party at the beach. The time for you to be there is 7:00 - 12:30. Please bring your bathing suits.
Sincerely,
Kevin Arch
Jusinda folded the note and ran to Lareta."Mother, look what we got, an invitation to a swimming party."Jusinda said.
"Let me read the note,"Lareta said. Jusinda gave the note to her.
After Lareta got done reading it she said,"I guess you girls can go, but only if all three of you stop your bickering, because I am tired of it. Jusinda and Chelsie said,"OK."
Lareta folded the note back up and put it in her drawer.
"You girls have one day to get ready. Take your allowances and go buy a bathing suit." Lareta said.
Jusinda and Chelsie said,"Thanks mother!"and ran out the room.
Leeloo went over to her mother and said,"Since I have no money, could you loan me some?"
Lareta said,"I'm sorry Leeloo. I do not have enough money for you to buy yourself a bathing suit.
Leeloo said,"I understand. If you need me I'll be in my bedroom,"and she walked out.
Lareta made a face like she was sorry, too, and went to her closet to find some clothes.
Meanwhile Leeloo was looking out her window and saying to herself that she was glad she had a car, but wished she had a bathing suit so she could go to the party.
Lareta started cooking the chicken. She got out the recipe for the stuffing. She started boiling the potatoes. Then she called up to Leeloo, who was picking up a few things she had on the floor, and asked if she could help with dinner?
Leeloo ran down the stairs and asked what she wanted done first. Lareta told her she needed the chicken basted. Leeloo got out the baster from the silverware drawer and started basting.
Lareta was putting the corn in the pan and adding the water. Then she started mashing the potatoes and adding the milk. Leeloo closed up the oven and got out the makings for her favorite juice she always made.
When Jusinda and Chelsie returned, they had sacks full of diamonds and jewels. When they walked into the kitchen, Lareta asked where they got all the money to buy those things. In reply they said they spent their money wisely and observed each diamond with care. After they got done telling them about the diamonds, they pulled out their bathing suits. Leeloo looked at all the golden threads and how the bathing suits sparkeled so greatly with passion. Leeloo turned away and looked out the kitchen window and said to herself,"Those bathing suits will not last in the water. They're only for looks." Leeloo didn't want to say this, but she had to. She turned around and said,"These bathing suits are only for looks. See it says right here on the tag."
She read allowed what it said,"Warning this bathing suit will get ruined if exposed to salt water."
Jusinda and Chelsie just said,"So what."
"Well, if you say so what, I guess that means you don't care if the colors fade, because know what type of temper you get when your clothes get ruined."Leeloo said.
"Oh, be quiet,"Jusinda said.
Leeloo grabbed her glass of water she had poured earlyer and left the room. Lareta told Chelsie to go pick up the money she had left on the floor. Chelsie did as her mother said.
Leeloo was up in her room reading her favorite book, Misty of Chincotouge, when her mom called her down to help set the table.
After they got done setting the table, they all set down for dinner. Jusinda and Chelsie were busy talking about the swimming party. While Leeloo and Lareta were eating dinner, Chelsie turned over to Leeloo and asked,"What bathing suit are you wearing to the swimming party?"
Leeloo looked up at Chelsie and said,"To let you know, I'm not going because I have no bathing suit."
"Oh, that's to bad,"Jusinda said in a cruel voice.
"Oh right, that's enough girls, up to your room."Lareta yelled.
"But, mom!"Chelsie said.
"Don't say a word,"Lareta yelled."Now up to your room!"
Jusinda and Chelsie left the table, but before Jusinda could reach the stairs, her mother told her to come back to the table. Lareta said to Jusinda,"I want you to stop demanding Leeloo to do your chores,"
"I will stop."
"Now go up to your room and get cleaned up. We have a busy day tomorrow." Lareta replied. Jusinda ran up the stairs.
Meanwhile, Leeloo was in her room reading her favorite book, when she saw a big shining, glittery light coming from the window. As she looked out the window, she saw a flower with the colors of the rainbow and a golden pearl in the middle of it. Leeloo walked over to the flower and it started to speak. It told her to go look in the closet. Leeloo walked over to her closet and saw a crack of light coming from the door. She opened it up and saw a beautiful bathing suit. It had lime green stripes at the top and a purple body.
The next day at 7:30 the girls left to the party.
After Jusinda and Chelsie left, Leeloo got on her bathing suit and her bracelet and left.
At the party, Leeloo swam with Kevin.
It was almost time for the party to end. So Leeloo left. As she was going she dropped her bracelet, but didn't pick it up.
The next day, Kevin came to their house to try on the bracelet, because he had made a search party.
As Leeloo walked into the living room, Kevin came up and tried the bracelet
on Leeloo. It
fit! From that day forward, they lived happily, ever, after!
