A long time ago, there was a young girl named Cinderella. Cinderella was very unhappy. Why was she so unhappy, you might ask? She lived with her parents and brother high up in the mountains where there were no friends and no neighbors except for the animals.
Cinderella had been a happy little girl. She had lived in a big house with a nice yard in a very busy neighborhood. She had a lot of cool stuff and many friends. She played soccer, basketball, and softball. She was always busy with either school or sports. Every Saturday night she went roller-skating at the local rink. Then one day her dad came home and said, "I am taking a job as a forest ranger, and we will be moving to the ranger station up in the Colorado mountains."
Cinderella was very upset; she did not want to go.
Of course, they moved anyway. Cinderella would start her day with school lessons taught to her by her mom, then there would be chores to be done, like feeding the animals, cleaning the house, and helping her mom prepare food. Her most favorite time was spending time alone reading in her secret spot in the woods.
One day Cinderella received a letter from her friends back in the city. It seems there was going to be this awesome skating party next Saturday and everyone was going to be there. Cinderella wanted to go badly. When she asked her mom and dad, they said they wished they could help her, but they could not leave the mountains. Cinderella cried and cried.
Then came Saturday night, Cinderella ran to her favorite spot and sat there wishing and wishing that she could go to the party. As she was crying, there suddenly appeared a bright light and a very pretty lady. The lady asked, "Cinderella, why are you crying?"
Cinderella told her about the party and that all of her friends were going to be there and how much she wished she could go.
The lady then replied, "I am your fairy godmother and I can grant you that wish, but you must remember one thing. You can only stay until midnight. Once that time comes, the magic will wear off."
Cinderella promised that she would return.
The fairy godmother looked around to find something that could transport Cinderella to the party. Then she saw a huge tree stump. She turned it into a taxicab. There were some field mice running around and she turned them into a driver and a helper. She then cast her spell and poof! off they were to the party.
Cinderella was havng a great time when all of a sudden the clock struck midnight. Cinderella ran for the taxicab and poof! they returned home.
All of a sudden, Cinderella woke up. there she was in her room at their house in the city. She ran to the window and looked out. Everything was as she remembered! She was just having a bad dream.
