Death was sad on the Denver Guest Ranch. On Saturday, June 11, 1996 on a summer day the mother of the Lemm's family would never be forgotten because she died of cancer.

A week later the father brought a picture of his wife to a sculptor so he could have a statue of his wife made.

When the sculptor was done the father bought the statue. The father brought the statue back to the ranch and set the statue on a platform surrounded by water where it stands outside. His youngest daughter, Roxie, was his prettiest, sweetest, smartest, daughter and of his four daughters. The other three were Helga, Nerma, and Syra.

They weren't the father's favorite because they were like the 3 Stooges. Helga was like Larry because she's mean and bossy. Nerma is like Curly because she has red curly hair. Syra is like Moe because she is sort of fat. Also these sisters act the same as the 3 Stooges and look the same, but the only difference is that they're females.

Roxie loved the statue, but whenever she passed the statue she would miss her mother.

One night Roxie was awoken by a noise coming from the statue. Roxie got out of bed and walked to the statue. When she got to the statue it was glowing.

Then a person just appeared in front of Roxie. Roxie was about to faint, but she just kept walking up toward that person. Roxie saw the person's face. It was her mother!?! Roxie then fainted.

When Roxie came to she found herself in her bed.

"It was just a dream," Roxie said to herself. Roxie got out of bed and walked to the statue. When she got there pieces of stone was on the ground. The guests were standing and looking at the pieces of stone. There wasn't even any marks on the statue.

Roxie was a little scared and said to herself,"What if it was real?"

That night at the same time as the other night before she got up. Roxie tiptoed out of her room. When she got outside she ran stomping her feet hard and loud.

When Roxie got there, the same person who looked just like her mother was standing next to the statue. As Roxie got closer she pinched herself to make sure she was awake, and when she did she said,"Ouch! That hurt!" She quickly slapped her hands over her mouth. Roxie stopped walking because the woman was turning her head slowly toward Roxie. Roxie took a big gulp.

The woman said,"Roxie, my dear sweet daughter."

Roxie said,"Moth- Moth- Moth- Mother, is that really you?"

The woman just nodded. Roxie ran toward her mother to hug her, but instead ran right through her mother.

Roxie said,"You're a ghost," screaming it out loud.

Her mother just said,"Yes, and you're the only person that can see me."

Roxie and her mother talked till morning.

So then Roxie's mom left because guests started coming out of their rooms. Sometimes in the day Roxie saw her mother and wanted to talk to her, but if people saw her talk to thin air she would be thought to be crazy or strange.

Later that day Roxie saw her sisters leave in a cab.

They later came back with a guy in a suit. They walked toward Roxie's father's office, and later Roxie heard BOOM! CRASH! BANG! Roxie saw her sisters running out with the guy in the suit. Books and other things started flying out. Roxie got hit in the head with a book.

Roxie's father said,"Sorry."

Roxie said,"That's Okay, but what happened?"

Roxie's father said,"Your sisters, put together, own half the ranch, and if we want to keep the ranch we have to pay 300,000 dollars, and I only have 299,000 dollars.

Roxie thought to herself that she could earn that one thousand dollars by winning the"Ride the Bronco" in the rodeo a week away.

A week later Roxie signed up as the Masked Ranger because she didn't want anyone to know that it was her.

When the rodeo started there were lots of people in the bleachers, and there were contests. When the"Ride the Bronco" came up, everyone lost. Then Roxie's turn was coming up. She was wearing a mask. Roxie's mom was at the rodeo, but Roxie didn't notice her mother was at the rodeo.

Roxie's mom feared that Roxie would fall off, so Roxie's mother put a force around her so that she couldn't fall down.

When the Masked Ranger was announced, everyone was puzzled, but they still cheered. Roxie stayed on to set a World's Record. Roxie won the prize of 1000 dollars.

When she got off the bronco her mask fell off. Roxie ran covering her face. No one knew her, not even her father. So Roxie's father picked up the mask and started searching for the unknown girl.

The day ended and no one fit the mask. Roxie's father went home and threw the mask down in exhaustion.

Roxie tried it on and Roxie's dad was surprised that it was a perfect fit.

He phoned and said that he found the unknown girl.

Roxie received her prize, paid for the land, and the sisters took the money and left.

So Roxie and her father owned the ranch and now Roxie's mother had to leave.

Roxie asked her mother if she could make Roxie's dad see her. Also she wanted to be able to touch her, so Roxie's mother asked her boss (God) and God said, "Yes," but Roxie didn't know what was happening.

So, that one night, Roxie told her father not to be scared. They walked to the statue and all of the sudden Roxie and her father saw Roxie's mother coming out.

"Is that really you," said the father with happiness. Then he said, "No! No! No! But you're dead."

Roxie's mom just nodded and said ,"Yes, but I came to help save the ranch, but now it's finished and I have to leave soon."

Roxie's dad smiled and hugged his wife. Roxie didn't know that she could hug her mother. Then cam all the "I love ya" and the "I missed you". Finally to the mushy stuff. Roxie got all sick because she doesn't like love scenes, so she left.

Before sunrise Roxie went outside to the statue because she knew her mother had to leave soon.

When the time came all of them were by the statue. They all hugged and all had tears coming down from their eyes. Roxie, her father, and mother closed their eyes. When they were still hugging, Roxie's mom kissed Roxie and father on the head.

When Roxie and her father opened their eyes, Roxie's mom was gone.

When they turned their heads they saw a smile on the statue and tears. Roxie and her father knew it wasn't plain water.

Roxie and her father got on with their lives. Every time they passed the statue they would see a smile on the statue. When Roxie or her father passed the statue they would always smile back.
